Quick Keg Questions

When can I pickup my keg?

Once your order is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email from us confirming pickup date and time. Walk-up orders are possible, however pre-ordering will ensure we have a tap available and the beer you requested in stock. 10L kegs are not pre-filled and require a minimum of 5 business days notice to fill an order.

How much beer is in a keg?

30L kegs hold approx. 60 pints (16 oz servings). 10L kegs hold approx. 30 pints (16 oz servings). Expect some additional loss with foam.

How should I store the keg for serving?

Beer is highly sensitive to temperature changes & movement. Store your keg cold to preserve the quality of the beer and reduce foam when serving. We recommend picking the keg up on the day of your event if you’re unable to refrigerate the keg. Place your keg in the location where you want it to be served from and allow it to sit for at least an hour (longer is better) prior to pouring. This allows beer to settle and to further avoid a foamy pour.

Keg Rental Agreement Terms & Damage Deposits

I agree to a deposit of $50 (per keg) & $100 (per tap-pump) to be charged on my credit card.

I agree to allow Barn Hammer Brewing Company to keep my credit card info on file up until the return of all rented out items. I understand that it is my responsibility for the safe return of all kegs and taps to Barn Hammer's facility.

I agree to notify Barn Hammer Brewing should someone else be pciking up my keg order, and/or returning the keg(s) and/or tap-pump(s).

I understand that after 7 days the keg(s) & tap-pump(s) are considered late and that my credit card will be charged a rental fee of $25 per week, per keg and/or tap, up to the total value of replacing the keg and or tap, not exceeding $350 per keg and or tap for any items that are not returned within the 7 day rental period.

I understand that if there is any damage (damage to be determined by Barn Hammer Brewing Company) to either the keg (s), tap-pump(s) or pail(s), partial or complete loss of my deposit(s) may occur.

I understand that the deposit refund of the tap-pump will be processed only after Barn Hammer Brewing Company staff are able to examine and test the tap-pump to ensure it is in proper working condition. I understand that the testing of the returned tap may take up to 5 working days to complete.

I understand that once my purchase has been made and the keg(s) have left Barn Hammer Brewing, kegs are nonrefundable. There will be no credit issued for unused beer left in the keg(s).

I understand that the damage deposit refund may take up to 14 business days to appear on my credit card statement, depending on my bank’s processing speeds.

How can I pay?

You can pay for your keg by credit, debit, or cash. All rental deposits must be paid by credit card.

When is my deposit refunded?

Deposits for kegs are refunded when the kegs are returned. Taps are checked by production staff to ensure they are in working condition, this may take 1-2 business days. Once checked by production staff, the tap refund is processed. Returns are processed immediately by our Square Payment System. Your banking institution may take up to 9-21 business days to release the funds into your account. All financial institutions vary, however in our experience most institutions release the funds within a couple business days to their clients.

What type of kegs do you use and how big are they?

We use sankey kegs. 10L kegs are 12” in height and 10” in diameter. 30L kegs are 24” in height and 10” in diameter.

Will you fill my personal keg?

We do not fill personal kegs.

What happens if I have trouble setting up my keg?

We will go over tap & keg set up when you pickup your keg. Watch the video below for quick & helpful tips on setting up your keg and how to properly use the pump taps.
